Official Hanover Contacts by Need
Identify the record or event before calling. Court clerks maintain case files; police and sheriff offices maintain their own agency records; the jail answers custody questions. A result in one system may not reflect an update in another.

Hanover County’s general FOIA office handles records held by county public bodies, not clerk-held court case files. Court records follow court rules, and HCSO may not be required to create a new live warrant list. Be wary of callers demanding immediate payment by gift card, cryptocurrency, wire transfer, or payment app; end the call and independently dial an official number.
